one trick is to use usrlocal or usremote (first param in menus.ctl - read
dox) for all those options, like the user editor.
to access any of that stuff on my system, you have to be a sysop PLUS have a
certain key. this means that even if someone is somehow put at sysop, or if i
upgrade their acess so they can download a file that's not online, and forget
about them, then they don't have complete sysop access. I did the thing you
have setup for a while, then i was at a friends house trying to give them
acess and couldn't since i couldn't access the user editor, so that put an
end to that =)

well, there's max(p).exe -u ;) there's external editors around.. UED is/used
to be a big one. there's also another one i tried, but it was in beta and
kind of a pain to use..
