Mannerheim played a major role in 1939, when we fought Russia for the first
time. He wasn't into politics yet in 1917, at least not openly.

A big statue of Mannerheim watches over us in the center of Helsinki, and
there's a nice drink named after him (it's a spicey vodka, which he is said
to have drunk quite a bit) - so he's always present :-)
