Well, a simple upgrade to linux might or might not fix issues like that.
You may have to ultimately buy a newer PC to use supported versions.  I am
not sure about mozilla but google, for example, stopped making a 32-bit
version of Chrome for linux.  In order to use their newer, supported
versions of Chrome, you have to be running a 64-bit machine.
