FWIW, not true with any version of DR-DOS [The Thinking-Man's DOS]:
 IBMBIO.com, IBMDOS.com could always be physically located anywhere on 
the disk [even in the last sector of it], as long as there was an entry 
for them in the root-directory.
But then consider that DR-DOS could always print to a Postscript 
Laser-printer from the command-line from Version 5.0 onwards -- MS-DOS 
still doesn't have that capability, AFAIK!
