SM>Rob:
SM>RK=>Just read that you bought a new 36' ship :-) What did you buy. I can
  >RK=>relate to the purchase being just before Haul-out. I did the same
  >RK=>thing with Toy Box ( bought her in October ) Well it sure was a great
  >RK=>season, one of the best that I can remember in a while.
SM>Yeah - Sheila and I went over to that (damn) In-Water Boat Show at
  >Outer Harbour in September, just to "look" mind you... found the
  >Jeanneau 36 and immediately fell in love iwth it - it was everything we
  >wanted on a boat; the fact that it's a fast, ocean-going boat is just a
  >plus! We put in an offer two days later but it took 3 weeks to get all
  >the wrinkles ironed out 'cause the owner is a big player in the Atlanta
  >olympics and he was out of the country most of the time... boy, was THAT
  >ever frustrating/nerve-racking - half the time we didn't know if the
  >deal was going to fly at at all! Anyway, got it into NYC just one week
  >before haulout... just long enough to really want to go sailing M O R E!
SM>You're quite right - it was a GREAT season!
SM>RK=>Have not seen or heard much from our sysop Mr, Hughes. Think we
hould
  >RK=>call a Friday night get together so we can tell some stories.
SM>Absolutely - one of us (ANY of us!... all you others listening?) should
  >organize a night at ANY club and we'll all converge! (this idea excepts
  >Augustin... much as we'd like to converge on VVR)
SM>RK=>Hope all is well, and heck you can have that new vessel just the way
  >RK=>you wnat her come launch, if you cans tand doing chores in the cold
  >RK=>that is.
SM>Well, all th cushions, electrics, and floors are at home now... at least
  >get everything looking pretty. As for the outside, there really
  >isn't much I really want to do RIGHT AWAY... change a couple of sheet
  >stoppers and get new sheets is about all on the "must do" list. The
  >very thought of cleaning all that hull is a bit of a nightmare!
Well, my first sailboat was a C&C 26 then after a cuple of year we
progressed to Mirage 35, then after nine years Penny sweet talked my
into buy the CS 40. Now I can tell you that with every ne of those
vessels, they were TOO BIG out of the water ..... and TOO small when
they are in the water. Now I know that at some point there must be a
compromise ..... so my vote goes to TOO BIG out of the water. The trip
is to try and find some help getting her ready to go in and ready for
the hard land in the winter :-)
cold? I though THAT was why God gave sailors Scotch!
SM>Cheers!
