ÚÄ Richard Lisi ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ¿ ³Hello every1...I have collection of picture disks and would love some info ³ ³their worth...Can any1 help me ? THANKS ! ³ ³--- Maximus 3.01 ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ Most picture disks were never intended to be played, hence their collectability is limited. The only picture disks I know of that have anything other than novelty value are those produced for promotional use, or those whose pressing was strictly limited to a few thousand. Just to name a few worthless titles: Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell, any Boston disk, and the Sgt. Pepper soundtrack. On the other hand, at one time the limited Police Zenyatta Mondatta picture disk shaped like a policeman's badge and enclosed in a special sleeve made to look like a badge case was selling for over $100 around here, when it turned up at all. I don't think more than 1,000 were ever produced, but that's just a guess. There was a company in Europe that produced what they called Six Packs - six song picture disks that WERE intended to be played, and had a comparable sound quality and needle life as a regular lp. The Vogue 78s from the 30s and 40s are worth quite a bit as well, but since you didn't mention any specifics, I'm not sure any of this helps. --- GAPNet Enhanced ---------------³ * Origin: Fun and Private Bbs (1:250/123) * Origin: Quest With The Knights Of The Roundtable (1:264/416.0) |
