RA>I hand't noticed Tarry or Paul complain about the AR being a problem???

Well it isnt a problem with just the AR being there, (ie if you did a
normal reset). However, the AR's fastloader really stuffs it. F3
(directory) doesnt work, and you cant do any dos commands with {at}: either.

RA>So, you need either the kernal wedge or the kernal ROM version then,
 RA>don't you? :)

Obviously! (-: Or the serial bus version.. (:

RA>You and me both, but it may yet happen. Can't make any promises as to
 RA>time tho'.

You may be able to 'borrow' some info from others as to how to do it.
Supposedly the latest 64 emulator (e) has the ability to access a 1541
through the parralel port (ala x1541). So that makes at least 2 people that
have done it, both of wich you could easily contact. I can see no reason
why they wouldn't help you, I mean you're not exactly 'stealing customers'
from them or anything.
Of course the ultimate extension of a serial bus version would be to have
the pc end running a 6502 emulator to completely emulate a 1541, so even
fastload routines would work! (-: (dream... (: )
