That's excellent. I work better with less supervision too. I realized this 
several years ago while working at a Walmart warehouse. I was working with a 
back injury that happened on the job, and Walmart was very reluctant to pay my
hospital bill, but I was still on the job & not crying about the pain.

But then I reached my boiling point when I needed to piss and the boss told me
"We've only got 45 minutes left to work - just wait until we're done." That 
was my last day on that job, and my last day ever working under close 
supervision again.
