I've been around some older rice rockets that are 6volt systems. 
That's why I asked if he was sure it was 12volt or not.

The suzuki sp series (1980s) is also 6volt as is the Yamaha FS1E. 
Granted, these aren't new bikes. But, they are 6volt babies.

I also asked if he was sure it was a 12volt, because I've seen 6volt 
batteries on very small generators too.
