LCDs are nothing like standard desktop CRTs... they can't adjust their
resulution... they are fixed at XxY dots... if the screen is physically
1024x768, and you select a graphical resolution of 640x480, then the
visible area will be centered and physically 640 dots across and 480 dots
down...

you'll note i specifically stated graphical resolution... textual stuff is
a tad different...
