Hi Steve,
-> I would like to set up an ftp server. I found a server in OS/2
-> called FTPD.exe. I cannot find any info on it at all. Anyone know
-> where can get some info on setting this up?
There isn't much to know. You can install it in your TCPSTART.CMD
"start /min ftpd" and you have your server up. Have you tried the
Assistance Center help?
-> Also if anyone has info on setting up a full time dialup Inet session
-> & keeping it up I would be interested. I want to start with a
-> fulltime connection & an ftp server. Then slowly get my BBS on the
-> Inet.
To maintain the connection all you need to do is ping a site within the
time-frame of your isp's idle disconnect. There are many programs to do
this. If you are using In-Joy as your dialer, it can be configured to do
that. If you are using a DNS server to update your temporary ip address,
you can usually configure that to do so at regular intervals also.
Rgds,
Stewart
