 Basically, Beta was a Ferrari to VHS's Oldsmobile; faster and more
 responsive tape handling, and a better picture. Of course, many VHS
 decks now offer "always threaded" transports which are basically a
 copy of Beta's mechanism. Imitation is the most sincere.., etc.
