Hehe, they sound pretty amusing to me. But I an see how they might not
be so entertaining for a betta that is used to peace and quiet.

He might just need to get used to them. When I first put one of my
bettas with other fish (red eyed tetras) he was a bit shy, and spent
the first several days hiding in a corner, but now he's the king of
the tank again, and the tetras don't bother him at all.

If you're looking for some nice bottom feeders for your betta tank,
consider getting several otocinclus cats. These little guys are great
algae eaters, with occasionally amusing antics, and they won't annoy
the betta.

You might also look at getting some ghost shrimp. They do a nice job
of cleaning up debris, are unusual looking, and are very cheap.
