Sorry but you will never possabibly cxonnect to a BBS at 56K. It is a
specisal Portocal that will only connect ot a Central Office Switching
tation
at that speed where IF you are caling an Internet ISP and it is a Digital
Switching Station within Several miles of your home it will possabibly make a
50+ K connect. The Connection has to be PERFECT thouhg as the protoical is
particualrly suspectable to line noise.

If you are getting a good phone line connection right now that is Nothing
ou
can do to make any difference. A copper to copper connection from yuor Phone
or Modem to the Phone company connection on the side of your house is as
good as it gets untill your Phone company goes to a Fiber Optic system. You
can have an ISDN line installed maybe. But it is Very Expensive and they
Charge by the Minuter to use it. And then even then is is only ca[pable of
28
K IF yuo use Both carriers. It is like a two line system you can either use
two devices at 64 K or one at 128 K. This is a gross generalization but it is
basicly correct.
