1. Because I didn't want to be bothered with Windy XP as installed onto 
the 40 Giga disk.

2. Because there have been reported problems with eCS while installing 
exactly on a disk like that (actually, it was a R51 too from a fellow 
here in Belgium).

3. My option was to use my laptop as an on-the-fly copycat backup for my 
main system. 40 Giga wasn't enough anyway. So, to install a blank 80 
Giga was my best bet.
