Just go "e temp.txt", that's what I do.

Ok, give me a list of the 10 most common keysequences you use, and I'll set
up the startup file to do the redefinition. It will be interesting to see
if 10 covers your needs. If it doesn't, I'll do the next 10. I would be
surprised if you use a great number of functions in an editor (any editor).
