6ft by 1.5 ft. i was actually wondering about a low tech aquarium.
lots of plants, lower amounts of filtration because of plants (no
carbon) use of sunlight, no co2, suitable substrate (maybe soil but
prob not. onyx sand, now even thinking planting in pots within the
gravel bed). there seems to be varying opinions on this. its
frustrating, with the substrate because onyx seems to be the best but
the price is astronomical to do a 125g i am sure it will look
excellent and do well but i wonder if it is worth it, and if this
really fits into the concept of low tech or mainly mimicing a mini
ecosystem.
