These phishing emails are becoming more common every week. Most of
the one's I get are from banks that I've never done business with.
I do get them from Paypal also. A quick look at the email header
is usually sufficient to determine it's legitimacy. If you are
reading your email in a browser instead of a text mail client you
can view the source of the link and usually tell immediately that
the link goes somewhere other than the institution that 'sent' it.
Generally, financial institutions will not communicate with you via
email asking for security information or verification of account.
And if you are uncertain, you can always visit their site by
starting at their home page that you type in manually rather than
clicking on the link to what is most commonly a phony site.
Caveat Emptor. It will only get worse as time goes on.
