Salt in an aquriam can be benificail to certain fish namley Black Mollys 
but not houseold cooking salt proper AQURIAM salt that you get from your 
aquriam supplier, he should also be able to tell you how much to put in 
for your size of tank, Black Mollys are prone to a type of Fungus without 
it. If the Mollys have the infection it looks like a white velvet all over 
there bodys.
