O.K.....I haven't really tried to compare 'time to connect' against other
servers, but it seems to be fast .

When I talk throughput I'm not referring to the time to d/l all the message
in all the groups that I read.   I'm looking at the counter in
FreeAgent that reports 'receiving message (message number) of (total
unread)'....that counter goes up *really* fast .
