Vivien Neves, the first nude model to appear in The Times, has died aged
54. She had been suffering from multiple sclerosis for more than a decade.

Miss Neves, who was known as The Body at the height of her modelling career
in the 1970s, died in Guildford, Surrey, after contracting pneumonia. Her
appearance in a full-page advertisement in The Times in 1971, which came
after the chemicals company Fisons bought all the display advertising space
to promote its products, was seen as the start of a revolution in attitudes
to public nudity.
