-> Yes, and we still have them flying wild. Brownsville has a strong
-> Mexican Redhead population, and we have a flock of at least 50+ Green
-> Conures (Arratinga) flying wild in McAllen. We see them regularly at
-> the park and never tire of them. (Though they can FILL a palm tree
-> with their raucus noise!)
You're making me want to take another trip down to South Padre. I
wonder what their diet consists of. Somebody ought to be studying their
adaptation to their new environment. In Ft. Myers, Fla. there was a
flock of Amazons living in the suburbs down by the river, subsisting on
the fruit trees planted in people's backyards. They raided my husband's
grandfather's mango tree daily. They were nesting and had young nearby.
The neighbors enjoyed their antics and squawks, luckily.
-> about the problem of her decibel competition with the vacuum cleaner.

-> Oh NO! Not the dread Amazon Vacuum Cleaner imitation!
Nah, Zigums doesn't actually DO the vacuum cleaner, she just competes
with it in her inimitable fashion. I can't believe yours actually
mimicked that blasted racket. You are a true Amazon lover to endure
that.
