subject: Change by NAME?

MM> change, or A UTILITIES and either worked.
why do you want to do that? Isn't it just as easy to type in either one or
the other? I'd imagine that most people would get used to typing either the
names OR the numbers, and if they only have one choice, well..
as for speed, the amount of time it takes me to type in "utilities" vs "15"
isn't really that much. Sure i can type "15" faster, but an extra second
doesn't bother me =) (of course, that's just my opinion ;) )
MM> Just wondering, it was very handy.
The best way to do it would be to create duplicate file areas..
FileArea UTILITIES
   ACS Twit
   Desc Utilities
   Download d:\utilities\
   Upload d:\uploads\
End FileArea
FileArea 15
   ACS Twit
   Desc Utilities
   Download d:\utilities\
   Upload d:\uploads\
End FileArea
Then, so you don't get a listing with
15.. Utilities
UTILITIES.. Utilities
Make your own file menu mecca (max.ctl "Uses FileAreas") like:
        15 UTILITIES - Utilities
        16 GAMES - Games
or however you want it to look.
hope this helps.
