> RA>So, go ahead and write some point software for the 128 then! :)
> Yeah, and some for the 64 while you are at it (:
RA>Go for it!
Hey! It's not -me- who's writing the point software, its Tarragon! He
offered! (-: Besides, I hardly know what the hell a point is, so I cant
exactly code up something when I dont know what it is (:
RA>Who's paying? Compu$erve is well named! :(
Huh? Hey, I wasnt advertising compuperve or anything. If anything I should
be saying how damn expensive, slow & generally pathetic the whole
system is! Doenst even have batch Ymodem, let alone zmodem! & I've seen
bbs's run on a vic 20 that were easier & faster to use (:
RA>Who, me? :)
Who are you? (:
RA>Try sending me some mail R.Alphey{at}dce.vic.gov.au and I'll let you know
RA>what your address is. Hmmmm - I know what your address will be.
RA>If your compu$erve account is 74231,684 (as I assume compu$erve
RA>accounts are), then your internet address is 74231.684{at}compuserve.com
Yep I figured that out eventually (: Try emailing me at
'100240.156{at}compuserve.com'. I'll try & send you something sometime too (:
RA>It's $50.
RA>I think you'll be pretty impressed with the software!
Well tried it on the weekend, it sure is fast! Up there with AR's turbo
easily. But sorry, no sale! Too much incompatability with my AR, and all
the stuff I regularly use, plus the hassle of reloading the bloody driver
every 5 minutes. You could at least trap the NMI, I think I managed to lose
the driver just by hitting run/stp restore! But I'd pay $75 or more if you
can make a serial bus version (ie the cable goes from the pc's parralel
port to the end of the 64's serial bus - like X1541). That would remove 95%
of incompatability probs, and would make the drive work with practically
anything except the majority of fastloaders. It obviously can be done, you
just have to do it! I'd do it myself, but I dont know enough about the
serial bus or the way drives work to do it.
