Yes, and interesting that they would have you set up master/slave.
Usually on something this new you might be using an 80 wire cable? Is
this by any chance a maxtor hdd? If so, you might try a 40 wire cable
and use master/slave rather than cable select and see what happens.
This should slow things down enough to work.
