subject: terminal mode terminally bad

BinkleyTerm is a mailer, not a terminal program. The way I see it, I get a
decently-functional terminal for free along with my free mailer.

I don't see the reasoning for dropping support for the terminal portion
just because it's doesn't do everything.

How does BinkleyTerm's terminal program cause this problem? It sounds like
a configuration problem with the called BBS.

Doesn't happen here. May be a configuration problem with your buggy fossil,
or a system configuration issue.

Why does this indicate that it's a BinkleyTerm problem?

IMO, BinkleyTerm's ability to act as a terminal is a nice plus that I
choose to accept gratefully. If I need features that aren't available in
the BT Term, like VT220 emulation, I shell out to DOS and use Procomm Plus.
I won't demand that BinkleyTerm be a full-featured terminal program - it's
a mailer.
