I really hated it when Jeep replaced the Cherokee (the original SUV) with
the Liberty (hate the name too). While the Liberty is obviously more
modern/refined than the Cherokee, I am not sure that is necessarily a good
thing. The '87 2-Dr Wrangler I owned was a sweet vehicle. Decent size,
handling and ride. Was overwhelmed by my 5,000lb boat and trailer (hence
buying the Suburban) but it did haul said trailer and boat 50 miles, none
the less. The 4.0 liter engine was stout, I liked the looks of the vehicle,
got decent gas mileage.
