Hi Dewy,
You made my day with the your story below.....hehehe
DT>I and a couple of friends of mine were out riding in a pace line
racticing
DT>for the Hotter'n Hell Hundred. We were cruising along
DT>holding an average speed of 22 or 23 miles an hour which is
DT>very fast for us. As we rode down the road taking turns
DT>pulling and sucking wheel, this guy shows up behind us. As
DT>he got closer and closer it was apparent he was going to
DT>pass us. As he went around, he was wearing old sneakers
DT>and sweat pants cut off just above the knee. He was riding
DT>an old banana cruiser with the seat way to low and plastic
DT>streamers coming off the handle bar grips. As he pulled
DT>around us, he quipped, "Morn'n fellas." and went on down
DT>the road... :-)
DT>Don't worry about what that old bike looks like, just keep doing the
les.
Well I'll keep that in mind on my next encounter. Though I must admit, that
the blokes I do meet on their racing bikes are most likely training for
some important event....whereas I'm just bikeing to keep myself fit.
At the same time use it as a major transportation unit. Besides, my bike
is not that historic.... it has eight gears...how about that...
Now and again I meet a fellow in a racing wheelchair, he is powering
his three wheeled wheelchair bike with his hands....is he moving
along... when I see him, I think he's got the spirit.....
On my last visit to the States we where driving down Hwy 1 in Oregon,
we stopped at one of the Look Outs to admire the scenery and some Whales
moving along the coastline. At the same moment a group of Bikers came
along and stopped also. Obviously seniors, we got talking and we then found
out, that they where on their annual ride from Vancouver to San Francisco.
Not a mean feat.....I reckon....:-)
Looking at the Origin Line, The Dew Line,...are you running a BBS as
well, Dewey?
Greetings from Redland.....I love my Bike...
