Hello Alexander:
AB> I haven't read either of them. In my opinion all of his stories have
AB> something good and special - which does not mean
AB> that all of them are
AB> exciting. ;)
AB> So I think Insomnia for example is really bad,
AB> really disappointing. But
AB> there are also older stories that are not that
AB> exciting. A good example
AB> may Carrie be. The story is old but that does not make it better...
But Carrie was Kings first major novel and it showed what he could do...I
love all of his earlier stuff. (But then again that could be me in my
misguided youth in some form of rebellious stage).
Carrie was a pretty good story and it showed that King could have staying
power and besides the movie version was kinda scary but not true to the
novel...
and Insomnia is a slump story...I found that King was trying to recapture his
spirit of writitng...
AB> I bought a copy of The Regulators today. Now I'm
AB> really looking forward
AB> to finding out about the quality of the book.
AB> Desperation is not bad but
AB> it would be interesting if The Regulators was
AB> better. I mean - that could
AB> lead to the idea that Bachman writes better stories than King.
AB> Maybe like George Stark in the Dark Half?!;)
Stark is Bachman and King tried to excorsise his own little demons! :)
Let me know how your opinion of the Regulators! :)
