PM TimeTracker 1.0 is now available on ftp://hobbes.nmsu.edu where I have
posted it to ftp://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming/tmtrak10.zip with its final
destination being /pub/os2/apps/diary (may be changed by hobbes admin). The
filename is TMTRAK10.ZIP.
This is a small application that is designed to be as unobtrusive as
possible and to take up as little room on your desktop as feasible. It is
aimed at anyone who needs to keep logs of what their time is spent on. It
allows up to 9 tasks to be defined and allocated to separate buttons on a
taskbar. Each button can be set to prompt for more information or to log a
predefined entry. Floating tooltips tell you what the definition of each
button is and how much time has been logged to the current task. Each task
generates a log record that can be reported on from the built in report
functions. The log files are CSV format and it should be possible to load
them into a spreadsheet as well.
Configuration dialogs allow the format of the main window to be changed, to
be displayed horizontally or vertically, to float on top of other windows,
to auto-prompt every X minutes (between the hours of Y and Z) for the
current task.
This application was originally to be shareware but I have decided to
release it as "email-ware" for personal use since it is lacking the ability
to print to printers (printing to a file works). The app has a registration
code but this will be free to anyone who writes and asks for it.
