Never EVER kiss ass at work. Its pretty simple, just be humble and do the best
job you can and your good results will often speak for itself. Ass-kissers may
get promoted before you but you can sleep at night knowing you aren't one.

If on the other hand its a company-wide jerkfest or kissfest then you are 
likely better off working somewhere else. Same with "workplace drama".
