FRANK MALLORY was thinking about Search & Replace HRt in 6 and keyed
into cyberspace:
FM>My computer-illiterate wife has decided to write the Great American
FM>Novel, so I set up 6.1D with a graphics screen and turned her loose.
FM>When I came back 10 hours later, I found that she had keyed in a lot
FM>of material; but not being familiar with the double space feature of
FM>WP, she had keyed in double hard returns at the end of each line.
FM>Figuring no problem, I would simply search and replace them all with
FM>spaces, just like I do in my trusty 5.1+.
FM>So I gave alt-F2, which popped up (or pulled down) a menu with a lot
FM>of stuff, including spaces for text to be searched and replaced. But
FM>try as I might, I couldn't seem to enter a HRt as the thing to be
FM>searched for.
FM>What's the trick to doing this?
There are more than one way to do this. However, use Control-A and
you'll be able to enter the HRt by just typing one. This assumes DOS, I
do not know what the command would be in windoze. So, try it anyway.
