Nope, going to become.

I suspect the oscillations are going to get larger not smaller esp with
Iraq & the steady rise of the Islamists. Communism as an ideology was
easy form islamic monarchies & dictatorships to ignore/defeat.
Basically only South Yemen went under. It's much much harder to defeat the
islamists esp when a sizeable chunk/ the majority of the a population
supports them in principle if not in every action.

Saudi, Egypt, Jordan are all very vulnerable at the moment. Syria less so
unless the Baathists lose power. The Gulf States less so.

All the Palestinian islamists need is a solid supply of weaponry & some
good training & steadily these things are coming together.
