You can usually pop those welds, they're only small spots. Also, if you want to make a replacement pack get the cells with the tabs, and simply solder them, unless you have access to some place that can make the welds. Soldering to the battery cases doesn't usually work well, and it damages them. JP> I also found an RC parallel circuit in the main leads.
