So far I have had two Athlon MB that did not work with PM 3&6 and W4.

There is a tech at Fry's I have some confidence in.  His suggestion is 
get a MB that comes bundled with Linux.  His understanding is that if 
it will run Linux it will run anything and it would take confidence on 
the part of the MB vendor to include Linux.  ASUS may be a possibility.

Others have been successful with other MB.  In some cases OS/2 might 
not install and have to be cloned; but I have had that on lesser MB.
