subject: UPS Battery

DS>EV>Buying a replacement battery whenever needed was my idea in buying the
DS>EV>third UPS five years ago.

DS>EV>If I had noticed the door on the second UPS I would've got a battery for
DS>EV>it instead of buying the third unit.

DS> I would hope I can do likewise in mine. The 3 UPS's I have now are HEAVY..
DS>weight, but also in protection. However, I'm still going to unplug things wh
DS>storms threaten.

DS> Speaking of which, there is a severe weather potential here late this week
DS>And, in the longer range, one of the models (the GFS in particular), is show
DS>a winter storm for the region.

DS> Now, the GFS is cold biased, anyway...and anything more than 3 days out,
DS>forecast wise, is a "crap shoot", taken with a grain of salt. But, if that
DS>forecast still held 2 days out instead of 2 weeks, I'd be concerned.

DS> As I've noted before...in Arkansas, if there's either one snowflake, one
DS>sleet pellet, one freezing raindrop, or a combination of the above, it's PAN
DS>TIME. A local TV meteorologist issues a GROCERY STORE WARNING, and places li
DS>Kroger and Wal-Mart get SLAMMED. I don't know which combination sells out
DS>first...bread and milk, or beer and toilet paper. :P

Being in Earthquake country i stay prepaired. Typically I can go 30 days
and still get along without shopping. I also never let the gas tank in
our cars get less than 1/2 full so I will not have a problem in an quick
evacuation
