It's 15 May 97 08:37:00,
We'll return to Will Honea and Tony Langdon's
discussion of OS/2 Warp Connect v3.
WH> What did you use to re-enable Boot Manager? Every time I've tried to
WH> use DOS Fdisk or NT's disk manager I've wound up with partitions that
WH> OS/2 refuses to recognize - and that's just re-enabling the Boot

Hmm, I can't remember, to be honest. It was one of DOS fdisk, OS/2
fdisk or NT Disk Administrator. I just set the Boot Manager partition
active, and it was revived. :-)
WH> I'm a little suspicious about this disk, tho. It's a Seagate 1.2 IDE

WH> I used their program to back up the installed manager, then used OS/2
WH> to re-partition and format it but I see some interesting things when I
WH> look at the drive with a physical disk editor ( DOS, of course, but
WH> with it's own disk driver to get past the CHS limits ) so I may have
WH> some wierd mapping here.
Eeeeek! Those disk remappers (I tried EZ-Drive a few years ago) seem to
be commercial viruses, in that they rewrite themselves to disk if you
attempt to delete them. I just use LBA and let the EIDE controller and
BIOS do the rest. Much cleaner. :-) I had problems removing EZ-Drive
from my 1.2 gig Conner. Never touched it again, it's too much trouble,
and it's better to spend money on an updated motherboard and EIDE
controller IMHO. :-)
... Help! I'm trapped at 0D1C:01DA.
