You better watch out from direct sunlight hence it can promote hugs amount
of algae.
Bare in mind that most aqautic plants do not use all of sunlight spectrum.
Also as a deep tank you must make sure light can penetrate it and not only
on the upper levels....
You should if still to use direct sunlight use plants that require much
light!
I also recommend the use of crushed peat blocks under the gravel - roots
love it.
Regarding the use of pots you can but consider maintenance gravel cleaning
etc... ( I do not use pots in my planted tank)
You can also get a few algae eater fish.
Most important thing you wanna do is study plants before introducing them.
