subject: Connecting to a USB printer

We have an HP Officejet all-in-one (color printer/FAX/scanner/copier)
for which a suitable OS/2 driver is reportedly available.

At present this machine is serving merely as a standalone FAX/copier
(except when I hook the notebook computer running Windows to it) and is
located too far away from any of our computers to connect by USB cable.
I will certainly relocate the machine temporarily to verify that it
works with a USB cable and the available driver, but I am wondering what
would be the best method of connecting it permanently. Apart from
finding it a permanent home within 15' (max. permitted length of USB
cable, it seems) of the computer, the possibilities seem to be:

1. USB extender/repeater;

2. HP Ethernet Print Server that plugs into the machine (and why is
there a special model for use with non-Windows computers? Doesn't OS/2
communicate using the same protocols as Windows?);

3. Linksys/Netgear/Belkin (etc.) print server, either wired or wireless.

Advice please.
