_I_ had something original to say about IBMWF default dir:
I don't know if this bothered anyone else, but I've developed the
tendancy to keep my data and programs in different locations, so that
when it comes time to upgrade, separating my stuff from their stuff is
easy. As installed, IBMWF has the slightly irritating tendancy to
default to the \IBMWF directory, and it ignores the 'Working Directory'
entry in a program object from which it is run. Instead, it looks to
the OS2.INI file for directions. If, like me, you wish to change this
behavior, you may use the following REXX cmd (provided to the public
domain, user takes full responsibility):
/* setwfdir.cmd - change WorkFrame's default directory
use: SETWFDIR D:\NEWPATH {to set new default }
use: SETWFDIR {see current default }
remember to copy any necessary *.PRF, *.INI and *.PRJ files
from old working directory.
*/
call RxFuncAdd "SysLoadFuncs", "REXXUtil",
"SysLoadFuncs"
call SysLoadFuncs
say 'old dir:"'sysini('user','IBMWF','DIR')'"';
if arg()=1 then do
dir=arg(1)||d2c(0); /* append a nul character */
say 'new dir:"'dir'"'
say '"'sysini('user','IBMWF','DIR',dir)'"';
end
