The EICAR virus isn't a virus -- if you execute it, it just says
it's the EICAR virus and terminates.
EICAR is just YASA (Yet Another Silly Acronym) for a whole bunch of
antivirus guys. Most antivirus programs are programmed to react to EICAR
as they are to other, real viruses. EICAR's sole purpose is to test
anti-viral installations -- load a Shield, then run EICAR. If it stops it,
you know it's working. (:
