NEWMAN/HAAS RACING TO RETURN TO THE INDY 500 FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 1995

Newman/Haas Racing announced today that they have filed an entry for the 88th
running of the Indianapolis 500 to be held on May 30, 2004. It will be the
first time the team has attempted to compete at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
since 1995. 
 
The 2004 entry will mark the 14th for Newman/Haas Racing in the Indianapolis
500. Prior to 2004, the team prepared a total of 20 entries for drivers such as
Mario and Michael Andretti, Nigel Mansell and Paul Tracy. Newman/Haas Racing's
highest finish in the Indianapolis 500 was second place with Mario Andretti in
1985 although team drivers have led many laps on the 2.5-mile Superspeedway.
Mario Andretti also brought the team it's highest start in the event when he
won the pole position in 1987.
