  Although my original message sketched an easier method using a TSR and
  semaphores, another solution would be to write a Virtual Device
  Driver to replace VKBD.SYS that provided an externally accessible
  mechanism for stuffing the keyboard of a VDM.

  But we should indulge in a reality check here.  It may be a lot easier
  (and a lot better) just to replace the comms program that is causing
  all of the difficulty in the first place, with one that can be
  properly killed by another process without damage.
