Rick Gordon jotted down in a message to All:
RG> I just purchased a SupraExpress 336e to replace my ancient
RG> 14.4 modem. I use the modem to run a bbs so needless to say I want
RG> the speaker turned off permanently. This modem only holds its
RG> active configuration while in one application, the moment the
RG> application ceases so do all my settings! My question is... Is
RG> there anyway, short of breaking the speaker that I can get the
RG> modem to turn off the speaker until such a time as I tell it to
RG> turn on? As near as I can tell this modem doesn't have vram and
RG> doesn't accept the AT command to write a new profile. Curious
RG> thought, why is that? seems like a throw back in design settings to

RG> I run RemoteAccess 2.02+ and FrontDoor 2.12SW in what is commonly
RG> called "shell to mailer" mode.
Nice modem Rick! Got one here that I love to death! What ya can do is in your
answer command (Normally ATA, change it to ATM0L0A) and you shoudl be good to
go!
