The necessity and ability to interface with fellow officers to achieve your
dept goalin a variety of circumstances and making the "patchwor of Law
Enforcement and jurisdictions work."
It also comes in real handy when "looking"
A GOOD REP precedes us as does a BAD REP
and we all may face an unemployment/layoff ore reduction in forces at some
point so it behooves us to keep contacts.
To his day I communicate with such varied officers as
Chicago Gang Crimes
Pqaducah Police, McC SO and KSP
East St. Louis , surrounding cities and counties ISP
Nashville and TN officers who I have seen grow into leadership positions over
the years.
To show you how close the LE ciommunity is a roomate in EKU is now a US DEP
MARSHALL sup and the othe vame to Nashville after a stint in the ARMY
Possibly the most interesting breed of PO is the one man army, the sole
officer in a small city who fields every call, often w/o checking out, many
times wioth inadequate radio and backup.
I've worked wirg one one who ate his wheatues in budweiser tosome young ones
that used the position as a stepping stone very successfully
There have been downdsides to the moving too....
