BK> EV> He said his computer works better when he does that.

BK> I am working on two changes/improvements. I have changed to
BK> portable apps as much as possible. Just set up second app
BK> partition, and install all your programs there in portable form.
BK> There are a lot available. That way, if anything happens to your
BK> OS drive, all the programs are still there, ready to go as soon
BK> as you reinstall the OS. I just have a copy of my desktop in the
BK> app partition, copy it back to the new desktop directory and you
BK> are back in business.
Sounds intersting, I wil have to look into that.
BK> The maybe is because I do an image of my OS partition when I
BK> have it set up how I want it. Instead of doing a complete
BK> reinstall, I just reinstall the image. Back to where I wanted it
BK> to begin with. I keep all saved files on a storage partition.
BK> That also eliminates the need to copy back the desktop, except
BK> for changes done after the image was made. It's amazing how
BK> little actually needs to go on your OS partition.
Since I converted several computers to SSD's for theri Boot Drive I have
soem spare Hard Drives so I keep a "Clone" of the boot drive.
NOW al I havew to do is rembember to update the clones more often.
On the wifes XP machine since she does not make changes and there are no
more updates I am set for her. I also keep her data on an Internal
flash drive
