Shudder .    We fnally got a story about it in our local paper,
the temperatures don't seem all that bad (keep in mind that we have just
spent a couple of weeks with daytime highs in the range of -12 to
-15 C ) but it sounds like the blowing snow has been the big problem.

We (those of us that need it, that is) are set up so that we can get to our
own PCs at work and also to the 2 machines that the mainframe operators run
their console sessions on.   Works well for on-call
support (it's not 'sprightly' performance , but the last couple of
times that I've used it, I've been able to fix the problem in the time that
it would have taken me to drive in), but the day to day work often needs
hands-on access to some of our servers and stuff like that.

In Ontario, Canada now.   Close to Toronto but at the very western end
of Lake Ontario.    Came over here from Middlesbrough in November 1964
- about a week before my 12th birthday.
