OK, I was rude.  It was called, when I worked there, Elmendorf AFB.  Next door
was Fort Richardson.  Now it's all called JBER.  I just didn't have an in with
the Army side of the place (Connie worked at Camp Carroll which is the AK
National Guard place at Ft. Rich for 5 years).  FWIW there is/was a Navy
contingency at Elmendorf also.  Only after I retired I discovered that my best
friend, from down at Funny River, was an E-8 there.
