RK> Robert I would like to point out the following: You appear to be ignoring the fact that OS/2 is a protected mode operating system. Many DOS based viruses will not survive in a protected mode OS, except for in VDMs. Even in this case, the virus will only live while the VDM is open. DOS programs can't *directly* read/write to the hardisk (using BIOS/DOS services) while OS/2 is running, nor can they write to running OS/2 EXE files. Therefore, viruses have much more limited powers under OS/2 then under DOS. (Especially if you only use OS/2 programs...) Also, many DOS based scan programs will be just as efficient under OS/2 at detecting DOS based viruses, and there are several OS/2 based virus scanners that I know of.
