Hello Paul!

PE> With saving of about 520k, this becomes 1.2 meg. So let's leave the pkzip

PE> + pkunzip in there after all. I'll just have to ask if msged handles the

PE> hudson messagebase. There is one that handles the squish messagebase.

PE> Actually, instead of that, how about replacing golded with mkqwk or

PE> whatever it's called, and use QWK packets instead, that way people can

PE> move to a "proper" messagebase reader if they want to.
Would you like to

PE> experiment with that (for the advancement of science). I'll just see if I

PE> can find the proper software for it. Yes, mkqwk102 it is. Also, you will

PE> need ra_111.* to install it. Once you have set up ra for the bare

PE> minimum, you can actually delete it, but you still have to set it up

 PE> initially.

I'll try some experiments along the lines of what you suggested. It

just may take a few days to get organised and find the time. Can I FREQ

mkqwk* and RA_111* off you?

You know, people that can find 40 megs for os2 [sic] and associated

utils should have no trouble finding an extra 3 megs anyway. I just

deleted that heap of shit os2 [sic] off my machine at work, and I now

find myself with an extra 40megs for pmaker 5.0 and a great deal of

other software that seems to run fine under windows. The 3.11 upgrade

to WfW should kill os2 [sic] IMO.

Regards, Alan
